The City Council of Gandía and the Chair of Innovation of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Gandía campus, organized an exhibition of wheelchair football "A-ball" on November 9: an innovative adapted sport with which they want to contribute to the constitution of a club in the city.
Attended by the delegate councilor for Sports and Youth of Gandia, Lydia Morant Varó, the director of the Innovation Chair Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, José Marín Roig, the director of the Área de Deportes UPV, César Iribarren, the delegate for LGTBi sports of the PSOE, Damián López, and the director of the Espurna Foundation, Charo García Sabater, among other sports personalities.
In addition to watching the game, the more than 50 attendees from the Espurna Foundation tried out the chairs and interacted with the players from the UPV team led by Antonio Falcó. Likewise, Lydia Morant and Damián López practiced the experience of A-ball, a fun and inclusive new inclusive sport.
This initiative of the Gandia City Council and the Chair of Innovation of the UPV, Gandia campus, also had the collaboration of the PROMIS association and the company TNG Sport. This project has the support of the Sports Area of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, within its policy of promoting adapted sports.
